Job Description
The successful applicant for this senior position will be a qualified Nokia Service Routing Architect (SRA), CCIE or equivalent. You will need to be proficient in IP Routing, with a detailed knowledge of OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPLS, VPRN, SR and VPNs. The ideal applicant will have a proven track record in the implementation of advanced IP service provider networks and will also have a good working knowledge of fixed access and optical networking technologies. You will be working for an established Managed Service Provider, monitoring and managing countrywide networks on behalf of companies who provide fiber services to Internet Service Providers. As a subject matter expert in their field, the successful applicant will be expected to lead and train a team of Network Operations Centre engineers and so will possess good interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
· Nokia Service Routing Architect (SRA), CCIE or equivalent.
· High Proficient in IP Routing, with a detailed knowledge of OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPLS, VPRN, SR and VPNs.
· Ultimate responsibility for network engineering, fault-finding, and error-correction.
· Ultimate escalation point.
· Overseeing and managing network performance and capacity.
· Identifies potential network problems and alerts the correct personnel.
· Acceptance testing as the network expands.
· Diagnosing and troubleshooting network errors and issues and/or reviewing designs
· Manage the SME team.
· Provide reports to senior management.
· Perform root-cause-analysis and recommend corrective actions for identified issues.
· Oversee and work closely with, manage and ensure the delivery from outsourced teams.
· Act as point of escalation and collaborate with other teams to drive resolution of complex operational issues.
· Interact with internal stakeholders at all levels to deliver an excellent network and customer experience.
· Continuously managing and overseeing, reviewing, architecting, implementing, and evolving processes to track, oversee and organize all systems.
· Monitor all cases and incidents to provide accurate metrics and KPI’s while ensuring operational processes are being followed.
· Responsible for managing and setting priorities for projects and initiatives while ensuring department core functions and duties are met.
· Responsible for management of proactive projects to improve network reliability and performance.
· Manage and keep up to date with industry trends and technologies related to network operations and security.
· Provide leadership, direction, inspiration and motivation with peers and subordinates.
· In-depth team performance analysis and reporting.
· Create reports for SNO management and provide reports to the Director.
· Plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations including schedules, vacation, sick leave.
Requirements and Skills
Required
10+ years of experience in network management, an in-depth knowledge of designing and implementing service provider networks.
Highly proficient in all areas of service provider routing, with a particular emphasis on OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Segment Routing and L2 services over L3 networks.
A detailed knowledge of service routing, fixed-access and optical networking portfolio. Preferably Nokia service routing.
Expert knowledge of Optical Transport Networks.
Expert knowledge of Fixed Access Networks.
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot to a resolution, network alarms and issues and provide expert support to NOC engineers.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
An analytical mind with strong observation and strategic skills.
Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and part of a wider team.
The ability to learn new and evolving technology.
A proven ability to identify and implement system and process improvements.
The ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with co-workers at all levels.
The drive, enthusiasm, and determination to succeed, with a hands-on 'can do' attitude.
Desirable
The successful applicant will be a qualified SRA.
Applicant holding an NRS-2 certification working towards SRA.
Applicant holding equivalent certifications from other vendors along with demonstrable experience with the Nokia portfolio will also be considered.
Certification in Optical and Fixed Access networks.
Knowledge of Nokia NFM-P, NFM-T, and AMS tools.
They will need to be proficient in IP Routing, with a working knowledge of OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VPLS, VPRN, SR and VPNs.
The applicants will ideally have a proven track record in the implementation of IP service provider networks and will also have a good working knowledge of Nokia fixed access and optical networking technologies.
The successful applicant will be working for an established Managed Service Provider, monitoring and managing nationwide networks on behalf of companies who provide fiber services to Internet Service Providers.
The successful applicant will be working as part of a team with Network Operations Center engineers and so will possess good interpersonal skills.

Salary: $150,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
