Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced K-9 Handler to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining the high level of operational readiness required for our mission sets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tactical military and police K-9 training.
Key Responsibilities:
- K-9 Handling: Operate and manage tactical K-9s in a team environment, ensuring the dogs can fully integrate and discriminate between team members and non-team members.
- Training: Conduct and participate in training sessions to maintain and enhance the skills of both handlers and K-9s. This includes foundation training for newly acquired K-9s and ongoing maintenance training.
- Operational Readiness: Maintain a high level of preparedness, with three K-9 teams always on a 1-hour recall status.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other handlers, trainers, and operational team members to ensure seamless integration and effective mission execution.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of training, operational activities, and K-9 performance.

- Rotary Wing to include the Fast Rope Descending Device (FRDD)

- Off-road Vehicle

- Rural Operations
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience in tactical K-9 operations, preferably with a background in military or police K-9 programs.
- Training: Extensive training in various K-9 disciplines, with the ability to train and maintain the operational readiness of both handlers and K-9s.
- Skills: Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Availability: Willingness to be on a 1-hour recall status and flexible to meet operational demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with the Army's Special Mission Unit (SMU) K-9 training programs or similar high-level tactical K-9 programs.
- Prior involvement in K-9 training and operational deployments.
