Job Description
As an Administrative Assistant with OMES you will enjoy:

Full-time 40-hour work weeks.

Support the Administration team

Salary up to: $55,000 based on education and experience.
Responsibilities
-
Schedules and organizes complex activities such as meetings, travel, conferences, and department activities.
-
Types and designs general correspondence and agency memos. Proofreads for spelling, grammar and layout, making appropriate changes. Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy.

Performs desktop publishing. Creates and develops visual presentations.

Creates and maintains spreadsheets.

Prepares reports by collecting and analyzing various types of information.

Records and transcribes meetings, drafts addendums, and open meeting requirements.

Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information and calls.

Drafts written responses or replies by phone or e-mail when necessary. Responds to regularly occurring requests for information.

Answers phones for the Purchasing Director and the Director of Grants Management. Takes messages or fields/answers all routine and non-routine questions. Works in cooperation with the front Desk Receptionist to cover phones.

Acts as a liaison with other divisions and outside agencies, including high-level staff such as Agency Directors and Consultants. Handles confidential and non-routine information and explains policies and Merit Rule when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration or closely related field and 2 years of experience in a secretarial, clerical or office assistant position. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
