Summary
The Utility Steward - Dishwasher position requires a candidate with core skills in bussing, along with relevant experience in food preparation, banquet service, cleaning, cooking, food handling, and catering. The ideal candidate should also possess premium skills in hospitality, restaurant, kitchen, and hotel experience. Additionally, proficiency in English and a high school diploma or GED are preferred qualifications for this role. The Utility Steward - Dishwasher will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in a fast-paced restaurant environment, supporting food service operations, and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests. This role reports to the kitchen manager or head chef and plays a crucial part in the smooth functioning of the kitchen and dining areas.
Essential Functions:
- Transport and clean cooking utensils and flatware in order to provide cooks, bus persons, and food servers with appropriate equipment for guest's dining experience.
- Cleaning of physical surroundings
- Sort soiled ware so that it can be put through the dish or pot machines
- Quickly wash all ware and replace in storage areas as designated
- Physical strength and stamina are essential to this position due to high level activity
- Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per hotel standards
- Cleans kettle, tilt skillets, pots, and pans promptly and completely so cooks can carry out their work
- Assist with various functions, but not limited to the dish out buffets
- Perform all assigned task, general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned
- Adhere to health standards
- Keep floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Restaurant and or hospitality experience
- Mush have comprehensive knowledge of Food and Beverage along with other hotel departments and functions
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety and legal regulations.
- Ability to timely obtain any required licenses and certificates
- Must be able convey information to ideas clearly
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
- Ability to communicate both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Ability to deal with internal and external customers of diverse social backgrounds with patience, tact and diplomacy of defuse anger and resolve conflict.
Education
- High school education and relevant training an experience required. .
- Additional education preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
