We are currently searching for a dynamic Member Assistance/Collections Specilalist I to join our credit union family. This position will be based in our Sheridan location (Pembroke Pines-I-75 & Sheridan). Some remote work may be available after 3 to 4 month training period. This position is responsible for an array of duties including serving as the main member point of contact for member collection related matters including SWBC daily operations, working negative share accounts and coordinating its referral to ChexSystems, insurance claims and late stage member delinquencies and serving as a backup for other MAG functions in support of the MAG unit. Will communicate effectively with members on delinquent loan issues to produce positive collection results while ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to.
In this position you will:
- Serves as the main member point of contact for the Member Assistance Group which includes service event tickets and related follow up and research; handling outgoing and incoming member calls as well as email correspondence with members and serves as the point person for all SWBC operations related matters and inquiries. Will also process payments, as necessary.
- Will work closely with the Members Assistance Group Specialist II and serve as the backup as needed in the following tasks: 1) monitoring of late stage credit card collections to ensure delinquent notices are mailed in a prompt and efficient manner; 2) Assist in the administration and coordination in a timely fashion repossessions of PFCU owned property to include auto and other vehicle and boats; 3) processing of bankruptcy files including preparation, tracking and monitoring, 4) insurance claims processing to include Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP), Skip Insurance Claims, Total Loss and Mortgage Insurance and 5) Recovery efforts through TRS, Chexsystems and legal actions.
- Handle credit disputes and completing member’s loan extension and hardship requests.
- Process shared accounts charge offs.
- Monitor monthly credit card overlimit report to reduce frequency of member delinquency.
- Work on a variety of month-end reports and other reports as needed. In addition, will spend ample time on data entry of member accounts for a variety of reasons. Also, will ensure proper and timely file maintenance to include all supporting documentation is included and thorough files are maintained.
- Provide general administrative support to the MAG department to include but not be limited to review and manage monthly CPI reports to determine force placement of insurance; and other reports and duties as needed.
To be considered you will need:
- High School Diploma required along with 2 years collections experience.
- Math Ability- Must have sound understanding of basic accounting and have the ability to calculate figures.
- MS Office applications: Word and Excel, Basic to Intermediate
- Must have strong attention to detail to include solid data entry with limited errors.
- Must possess the ability to remain calm, patient, objective, and professional when presented with difficult situations.
- Must be able to work in a time sensitive environment and communicate decisions to all stakeholders.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to conduct member research on an ongoing basis regarding many banking matters.
