The quality control inspector is responsible for the quality inspections, part counts, and related documentation of numerous automotive parts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Irrespective of any other responsibilities, the inspector will have the freedom and authority to initiate action to prevent product or service nonconformity.
· Perform hourly quality control checks and complete electronic or written documentation.
· Perform start-up production clearances.
· Perform in-process inspections.
· Perform final inspections on product before shipping to customers.
· Train new and existing employees on the identification of defects and understanding defect criteria.
· Accurate use of digital scales for production counts.
· Process production parts through the system by entering quantities, printing labels, and tracking balances.
· Quarantine any product not meeting standards and documenting results.
· Record defective parts for review and resolution.
· Perform any other duties as assigned, including cross training with other department inspectors.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
· Be able to read and interpret work orders, process instructions, and engineering drawings.
· Ability to use and understand measuring and test equipment.
· When necessary, perform final part clean-up using clippers, scissors, and utility knives.
· Perform simple arithmetic to determine counts and weights.
· Computer literacy.
· Work well with others.
