doi moi is seeking a Bartender to join our team in support of the creation and execution of this authentic experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet, serve, and communicate with guests through their entire visit to ensure a positive and memorable experience
- Maintain high knowledge of the food, cocktail, wine, and beer menus to explain the items to guests in an enthralling way
- Properly measure, mix, pour, and serve all drinks for guests at the bar and in the dining room
- Respond to guests' questions while suggestively selling drinks, appetizers, specials, etc.
- Properly present, open and serve wine
- Work with other bartenders as well as with management, servers, hosts, bussers, and food runners to create a seamless dining experience for our gusts
- Enter all orders via POS system in a timely manner according to guests’ coursing preferences
- Work with a purpose; continually fill waters, pre bus, reset/wipe down bar top, complete side work, helps fellow employees, and complete additional assigned tasks to provide a productive and positive work environment
- Responsible for all barback responsibilities if no barback is present including restocking, filling ice, dishwashing, cutting fruit, emptying trash etc.
- Effectively handle all cash and credit card transactions with care
- Attend educational/developmental sessions as required
doi moi is part of SRG Concepts, a privately-owned restaurant group that currently owns and operates 7 locations in the greater Washington DC, metropolitan area. We are currently executing our full service and fast casual growth strategy. Our concepts are Chicken & Whiskey, The Walrus Oyster & Ale House, and doi moi.
Requirements
- Excellent English speaking and communication skills
- Meets state minimum age to bartend
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to provide top notch customer service in a fast-paced environment
- A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with bussers, cooks and other staff
- Stand and work in constant motion for the entire shift
- Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised
- Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, and mixed cocktails
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- 2 years of experience in a bar or similar environment (Preferred)
