Statement of Job: This job requires an individual with a dedication to service and a strong work ethic. As a housekeeper your main responsibility is to create a clean, sanitary and orderly environment for our residents. It is your job to ensure that all rooms and common areas are inspected according to VAC standards. Housekeepers must follow specific directions and schedules to maintain the appropriate appearance and cleanliness of our building.
Basic Cleaning Responsibilities:
· Wipe down hallways, including walls, handrails and vents
· Dust and vacuum the Private Dining Room
· Clean and mop the Employee Break Rooms
· Dust all furniture and sweep the Main Lobby
· Wipe down all trim throughout the building
· Dust and wipe down all windows and doors
· Make sure that all laundry areas are kept tidy
· Refill soap and paper towel dispensers as needed
· Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all Public Restrooms
· Sweep all stairs in the Lobby and the Fire Stairwells
· Spot treat all carpets and furniture when necessary
Resident Rooms:
· It is your responsibility to keep all Resident Rooms clean
· This includes dusting and spraying down open areas, vacuuming and cleaning the bathroom counter, mirror, toilet and shower
· Notify your supervisor if the carpet is badly stained, so that a carpet cleaning can be scheduled
Empty Rooms and Resident Move-Outs:
· Check and tidy all empty rooms for potential tours, making sure that water is being flushed through all the pipes, toilets are clean, and the floor is vacuumed
· Your supervisor will notify you when a resident has moved out and a room needs to be turned
· You will also need to pay attention to the move-in board located in the Prairie. This tells you the exact date an empty room needs to be move-in ready by
· We want to make sure that each resident coming into our building feels completely happy and comfortable with their new room, and you play a huge part in helping us achieve this goal
Going Home Duties:
· Before you leave for the day make sure to empty your mop bucket and leave the mop head to be washed
· Put all dirty rags in the appropriate bin to be washed
· Get rid of all trash and wipe down your cart
· Empty your vacuum in the morning and at night
· When necessary, make sure to start a load of laundry with any towels, rags and mop heads that need to be washed
