DevOps Engineer (Salesforce deployment release): Hybrid-Houston, TX
This is a permanent position for a Deployment Release/Dev Ops. Engineer preferably with Salesforce release experience to join a renewable energy client in Houston, TX. This is a hybrid position, 2 days a week required in the office in Houston. Permanent US Residents only and must live local to Houston, TX. No 3rd parties, No C2C or contract.

Seeking a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in energy and technology to join our client’s team as a Deployment Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and advancing the production DevOps process, deploying releases from client’s version control system to production environments. Additionally, you will collaborate with and train developers to deploy into various lower environments and integrated systems, supporting ongoing development and testing activities.
This role spans across Front–Office, Middle-Office, and Back-Office solutions, covering applications related to sales, marketing, customer experience, pricing, structuring of deals, load forecasting, risk management, trading, accounts receivable, settlements, enrollments, and billing. While primarily a technical role, an understanding of business processes is advantageous for prioritizing the impact of issues when troubleshooting production and lower environment pipelines. Reporting into the Manager of Products and Projects, the role requires a self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure.
Responsibilities:
Ø Manage and execute the end-to-end release management process for company websites, the integration layer, and other integrated projects.
Ø Create, maintain, and enhance deployment pipelines, including those in the version control system and other deployment tools.
Ø Establish and enhance DevOps and SDLC integrations; oversee CI/CD pipelines to fortify release practices.
Ø Continuously evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements in required tooling.
Ø Migrate changes and perform deployments from non-production to production environments.
Ø Resolve merge conflicts, deployment errors, and ensure code coverage criteria are met.
Ø Maintain a release repository with crucial details like release procedures and dependencies.
Ø Apply problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and proactively address challenges.
Ø Manage support for release processes and environments, including sandboxes.
Ø Manage and track released components in version control system(s).
Ø Provide support in planning activities related to deployment processes.
Ø Adhere to development lifecycle and release processes best practices.
Ø Create and manage access to data in the system.
Ø Work with technical teams to keep sandboxes in sync with code repositories.
Ø Build and manage validation rules, flows, and approval processes.
Ø Perform health checks and run optimizer reports.
Ø Work with support teams to resolve cases.
Ø Document pre-deployment data setup steps.
Ø Document post-deployment data manipulation steps.
Ø Perform screen shares with external vendors’ development and QA resources.
Ø Act as an escalation point for support cases.
Ø Resolve data-related blocking issues in all environments.
Ø Assist with post-release smoke testing in Production and during hyper care.
Ø Collaborate within a larger team to share knowledge.
Ø Showcase interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders.
Requirements:
Ø Bachelor’s Degree required plus 5+ years of DevOps experience in large-scale, enterprise environments, working with both Agile Scrum and Waterfall teams
Ø Must have previous experience in release management processes for websites, the integration layer, and other integrated projects
Ø Experience in release management processes for Salesforce preferred (may consider candidates with out, technical ramp up on Salesforce is expected.)
Ø Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle.
Ø Experience working with 3rd party vendors/service providers.
Ø Demonstrated ability to manage and shift priorities.
Ø Ability to work occasional weekends, holidays, overtime, or a variety of shifts.
Ø Ability to explain issues and resolutions to technical and non-technical staff.
Ø Comfortable working in a target-driven and fast-changing environment.
Ø Ability to work well within a team environment and independently.
Ø Self-motivated with the desire to consistently improve performance.
Ø Advanced leadership skills with the capacity to influence along with conflict management and resolution.

Ø Experience in the energy industry and retail electric provider business operations a plus.
$120k base plus benefits, hybrid/remote in Houston, Texas.
