The Tennessee Department of Correction operates and oversees 14 adult prisons across the state, housing some 21,000 offenders. In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state.

Job Overview:
The Correctional Program Director position assists with managing the clinical needs of the sex offender population under the guidance of the Correctional Administrator. This individual thrives in a fast-paced, multi-level organization driving the evidenced-based strategies in working with the sex offender population. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the clinical risk and needs of the population and be able to work with outside agencies, the court, and the community to provide necessary support and services to this growing population. The candidate should be able to support both those who are working with this population as well as those who have committed sexual offenses.
Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with other state agencies involved in the management of sexual offenders to ensure the needs of the population are met. Assist in the oversight of the prison-based sex offender treatment program.
- Collaborate across the department with the management and oversight of the TN Sex Offender Registry.
- Assist in the training and quality assurance of the TDOC static risk assessment for sexual offenders.
- Work with clinicians who provide sex offender risk evaluation and treatment in the community through the TN Sex Offender Treatment Board including quality assurance of evaluations and treatment records.
- Provide administrative support to the TN Sex Offender Treatment Board by managing daily tasks including the oversight of the indigent reimbursement fund and recruitment of licensed eligible candidates to provide services in the community.
- Assist in training department staff in the risk, needs, and management of the sex offender population.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education equivalent to a bachelor's degree with five (5) years of correctional experience and at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
- Preferred Master's Degree in psychology, social work, or counseling and be clinically licensed eligible.
Required Experience:
Experience in risk needs assessments, including static and dynamic risk for those in the criminal justice system. Preferred experience in working with sexual offenders, including the TN sex offender registry, and assessing the risk and needs of the population.
