Summary of Functions:
The right person for this position will have extensive experience in manual machining and fabrication. Experience on Bridgeport machines and manual lathes is a must.

Machinist/Toolmaker
Qualifications:
- At least four to five years of experience operating manual mills, lathes, & grinding machines for production of custom tools and fixtures
- Knowledge of machine shop safety and machine shop practices
- Ability to use and read dial indicators and calipers and inspection tools
- Ability to read a Micrometer down to tenths and hold tight tolerances, Close visual acuity to machine and inspect parts to close tolerances
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and email
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, high-quality tools and fixtures, for an Engineering Product Development Center, using various types of machining processes
- Perform all duties and responsibilities required of a machinist & toolmaker:
- Safely operate and maintain all shop equipment including mill, lathe, various grinders, and band saws
- Manufacture tools and fixtures to drawing specifications, meeting all tolerance requirements
- Able to work in a team environment and share responsibilities with other Machinists/Toolmakers
- This includes machine maintenance, organization and replacement of expendable tools
- Keep work area and machinery clean and in an orderly condition
- Lubricate machinery and tooling as required
- Assist with machine overhaul when requested
- Able to read/understand blueprints or verbal instruction to fabricate specialized tooling, jigs, gages and fixtures
- Understands the operation of all types of machine shop setups, ie rotary table, indexing head, boring head, sine bar, 4 jaw chuck, face-plate, steady rest, follower rest, etc
- Use of precision measuring and gaging tools to perform required inspection before, during and after machining
- Support any other fabrication needs as directed
Other:
- Ability to work for extended periods sitting and looking at computer while completing repetitive motions to include substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- The ability to manage a number of projects at one time with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines
- Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Fingering, Grasping, Feeling, Talking, and Hearing

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
