Job Description:
You must have at least 1 years of professional dog training experience. This is a position where you were paid on a full or part time basis to train dogs for a living. Please provide where you received your experience with your resume.
Nexus K9 is the Premier Dog Training Facility for the Coastal Empire. We are seeking an experienced dog trainer to join our team. All dogs are housed at our facility, trainers work approximately 32-40 hours/weekly. We are a balanced dog training facility and utilize a variety of tools in our programs. We hold ourselves to the highest professional standards of our industry.
Each trainer works out of our facility and assists with the overall functioning of the property. We utilize kennel techs but fully expect each team member to take personal ownership of the property, dogs and clients. You will be expected to assist with advertising, community outreach and other business activities as needed. Trainers are not required to sell programs.
Your first 6 months of employment will be a probationary period. We will work through our internal system of showing you our standards and procedures. You will be graded on your ability to learn, apply ideas and tactics, going above and beyond, punctuality, good communication, being able to run classes and private sessions, ability to work a dog through obedience and behavior modification programs.
Preference to applicants who currently compete with their personal dog/s in a sport.
This position would start at the beginning of May 2024.

Duties include but not limited to:
- Conduct dog training sessions and classes for clients
- Assess and evaluate dogs' behavior and temperament
- Develop individualized training plans based on dogs' needs and goals
- Teach basic obedience commands, as well as advanced training techniques
- Provide guidance and support to dog owners on effective training methods
- Address behavioral issues such as aggression, anxiety, and fear
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions and progress
-Conduct basic grooming of dogs.
-General upkeep of facility.
Experience:
1. Minimum 1 years experience working full time as a balanced dog trainer.
2. Must show a record of increasingly growing your skills (seminars, shadow program, volunteering).
3. Must be well-versed in the 4 quadrants of operant conditioning.
4. Must show advanced obedience skills with personal dog/s.
5. Must be extremely detailed oriented.
6. Must be very experienced with running classes and private sessions with clients.
7. Must have a clean driving record.
8. Must have a clean criminal record.
9. Must maintain a professional and clean appearance.
10. Prefer to have a vehicle capable of transporting client dogs (IE: Van or SUV).
11. Prefer to have experience with social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
12. Must have a fully functional smartphone (no older than 3 years old).
13. Must be capable of using internal client system for tracking calendar and client activity.
14. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, depending on client availability.
15. Job requires a 2 year contract.
16. Must be willing to live within 1 hour of facility (Bulloch County, GA).
17. Must be comfortable and skilled with balanced training techniques.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
