Responsibilities:
- Efficiently collect, organize, and manage patients' health information, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and security.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to scan, enter, update, and maintain patient charts with incoming faxes, emails, and other pertinent information.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal and state health information regulations, including HIPAA, to uphold patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to exchange necessary information as requested.
- Process and fulfill medical record requests following legal and policy requirements.
- Handle inquiries from patients, healthcare professionals, and insurers, providing accurate and timely responses.
- Keep precise records of all medical records, transactions, and communications.
- Manage incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate department efficiently.
- Support the scheduling and rescheduling of patient appointments.
- Perform additional administrative and front office tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with EHR systems and medical terminology, strongly favoring AdvancedMD knowledge.
- Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Unwavering commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion.
- Previous experience in a medical field is essential.
- Familiarity with medical office management systems and procedures.
