Job Summary: Primarily responsible for assisting specialist during the care delivery visits and assisting patient optimum comfort and understanding of treatment process.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint. Document pain scores as appropriate.
- Report condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient’s condition to the clinician
- Assist providers with exams and minor in office procedures and acts as chaperon as needed
- Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing including phlebotomy
- Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinical process.
- Oversee and ensure efficient turnover of exam rooms.
- Use universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed
- Coordinate and manage patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests
- Responsible for communicating test results to patient.
- Preparing the patient prior to the provider seeing the patient. Obtaining vitals, updating medical history, triage and set up the room.
- Provide complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
- Maintain a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas.
- Disinfect equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures.
- Follow manufacturer’s recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances.
- Valid California Drivers License

Pay: $18.92 - $22.78 per hour
