Ohio State University Physicians, Inc., is growing to provide much-needed health care services to the Columbus area. We are the multispecialty practice that manages The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s physician clinics. Together, we are seeking medical assistants to join our staff of dedicated health care professionals!
We are now hiring medical assistants for our Centralized Hiring program. The centralized hiring program allows for a unique opportunity that during a four week training period, you would train within multiple clinics and/or specialty areas. During these four weeks you will be in communication with your manager to provide feedback about your experience in the clinics. Ultimately you will work with the manager to find the right clinic for your permanent placement at the completion of the 4 week rotation.
Applying to this position will mean that you would be considered for a MA position throughout all our facilities. This includes but is not limited Worthington, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Campus Area, Gahanna, Westerville, New Albany and Dublin.
Responsibilities:
Medical assistant find meaning working directly with our patients to provide patient care.
- Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
- Complete patient interview and history.
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
- May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
- Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
- Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
Requirements:
Medical Assistant Certification preferred, but not required.
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one of the following:
- Diploma from a Medical Assistant Program, or
- Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience, or
- Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education, or
- Military Medic training, or EMT-P (Paramedic) training
To apply for this position, we require that you have open availability to work Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm for a total of 40 hours per week.
