Located near the main downtown library, we are in a beautiful old church that has been converted into an event hall. Every event is unique and lively, so our crew is fun and functions as a small family!
We are looking for someone to work almost every Saturday night with the occasional Friday and Sunday, depending on the season.
Responsibilities:
- Converting the main room from a ceremony setup to a reception setup
- Rolling out large tables
- Setting up place settings (plates, napkins, flatware, etc)
- Arranging preplanned wedding centerpieces
- Setting up our buffet or taking out plated meal service (tray experience not necessary)
- Bussing the main areas
- Taking trash out to dumpster as needed
- Helping bar back as needed
- Picking up empty glasses and plates
- Polishing and sorting silverware at the end of the night
- Maintaining our sanitation policies in response to COVID-19
Qualifications:
- No banquet serving experience is necessary
- Valid liquor license strongly preferred if 19+ years old
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to walk up and down the stairs multiple times a night
- Must be able to be on your feet for 6-8 hours
- Having bar experience is a plus
- Must be able to wear a protective face mask for the entire duration of your shift
General Information:
The start time is typically between 4:00 and 6:00 pm (depending on what time the event begins). Friday events tend to be a bit later, Sundays tend to be a bit earlier. Endtime is not guaranteed - we just go until the job is finished. Most shifts tend to end between 10:00 pm and midnight. We also provide meals for our employees after our guests are served, so you won't have to worry about running on an empty stomach the night of.
Pay is a flat rate of $16 an hour with opportunities for raises every six months.
