The primary responsibilities of the Network Administrator are to provide a consistent implementation of agency-wide proactive systems for computers, telecommunication systems, and LAN/WAN services. This position is also responsible for quality assurance and training in usage of computers, LAN/WAN systems, and telecommunications systems.
- Analyze and maintain existing hardware and software capabilities. Develop and implement the use of software and hardware for data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
- Network administration including but not limited to, system backups security management, user account management, e-mail systems including e-mail web server, internet and intranet access, office systems, applications support, routing, virtual private networks (VPN), managed antivirus.
- Support server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications including but not limited to SQL Server, Exchange, SharePoint, Windows Server, VMware, Linux, Active Directory and Domain Services, RAID, Storage Area Network (SAN), Windows Operating Systems, Office Product Suite, Antivirus, Oracle, Java.
- Voice-over IP Administration of the ShoreTel phone system.
- Monitor email and internet activity to prevent abuse of Monarch technology systems.
- Performs technology strategy analysis.
- Roll out hardware and software to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
- Plan, implement, and support the network and computing infrastructure plan.
- Maintain a working system for image deployment of desktops, laptop, and server systems.
- Manage projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules.
- Assist with technology planning through ongoing research.
- Provide support to IT Team as needed for escalation of more advanced problems.
- Work after normal Monarch business hours when required.
- Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required. Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements as needed.
- Work with Monarch employees, both IT and non-IT, to develop solutions and ideas to best suit the needs of users, to best complete their jobs in an efficient manner.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as state and federal statutes and regulations related to specific program areas.
- Maintain agency IT Disaster Recovery procedures.
- Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
- Travel and driving may be required.
