We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping individuals and families overcome substance use disorders and related mental health issues. As an AMFT, you will provide individual, group, and family therapy, conduct assessments, and develop treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health, substance use, and family dynamics.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary team members.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
- Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups focused on substance use recovery and family dynamics.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, case managers, and other therapists to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing training and professional development.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and other required records.
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
- Educate clients and their families about substance use disorders, treatment options, and recovery resources.
- Advocate for clients' needs within the facility and in the community.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid AMFT license.
- Previous experience in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of family systems theory and its application in substance abuse treatment.
- Proficient in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical practice.
