Position Description
Position Title: Care Management Specialist (CMS) Department: Clinical
Shift differential pay for 2nd and 3rd shifts.
The schedule for this position is Saturday and Sunday 3pm-11pm.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB FUNCTION: Under the direct supervision of the CMS Supervisor, Care Management Specialists
(CMS) are responsible for all matters relating to the security of employees, residents, and visitors. CMS’ are directly responsible for ensuring the continual accountability of the male assigned residents, and a safe and secure environment that facilitates treatment and rehabilitation. The CMS supervise resident drug and alcohol testing, visitation, recreation, laundry procedures, cleaning throughout the entire agency, transportation services, and other related duties as required. Facilitates security support for other treatment programs as required. CMS’ are expected to participate in other facility activities which foster a safe and secure environment that is conducive to the goals and mission of Community Assessment and Treatment

Minimum Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Demonstrates knowledge of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment & recovery, consumer engagement, healthcare, social services and criminal justice systems;
- High School Graduate
- Work experience that required the ability to implement effective operations, and the supervision of others which may have included security officers, military service, corrections, coaching, counseling, and the application of both positive and negative sanctions to facilitate behavior modification;
- Experience with adult offender/inmate/resident supervision and discipline, preferred;
- Interpersonal communication skills requiring courtesy and tact when dealing with other staff, criminal justice agencies, local organizations, and the general public. Must be able to deal with residents and their families in a tactful, yet firm, fair, and consistent manner;
- Ability to relate with people, listen, and then resolve problems effectively; ability to timely define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions;
- Experience with handling emergencies and potentially dangerous situations; ability to remain cool under pressure; ability to deal with aberrant behavior;
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing; read, understand and write reports, memos, and policies;
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License Preferred.
- Basic understanding of crisis interventions techniques
- Ability to work independently, without supervision
- Ability to use Microsoft word, email and agency electronic medical record system
- Must consent to and pass a urine drug screen
- Must be able to obtain a Medicaid number in accordance with OAC Rule 5160-1-17.8
