- A starting salary between $75,000 – $80,000 annually
Requirements for the Staff Accountant- Senior position at Stopp & VanHoy:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required; advanced degree a plus
- 4+ years experience in a senior level position within a private industry accounting firm or corporate accounting division; experience with private equity is a plus
- Experience working with companies between $10 million and $100 million in revenue;
- Experience with fixed assets and prepaid schedules required;
- Strong knowledge of all month end closing processes, filings and procedures required;
- Experience working independently, including client interactions;
- A demonstrated ability to coordinate project timelines across multiple clients and companies.
Our Staff Accountant- Senior will be responsible for:
- Supporting companies through transitions and implementations of new accounting practices, including transitions following private equity purchases;
- Analyzing new client processes and financial statements to create recommendations and independently execute on addressing issues with current financials;
- Assisting in the reconciliation and cleanup of financial statements and accounting processes for a wide array of companies;
- Executing detailed reconciliations of financial accounts, including bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions, to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in financial records;
- Preparing and maintaining prepaid schedules, tracking and accounting for various prepayments to ensure accurate financial reporting;
- Managing the fixed asset lifecycle, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and accurately reflecting the organization's asset base;
- Other duties as assigned.
