At K&R Truck Sales and West Michigan International (WMI), we are a locally owned group of companies dedicated to providing our customers with the best full-service truck dealership experiences. With five locations in Grand Rapids, Holland, Kalamazoo, Lansing, and Muskegon, we support our customers with an extensive service department, three complete body shops, parts delivery, a fleet of mobile service trucks, towing, and a laser focus on customer service. We also offer truck sales, leasing/rental, and financing. We are looking for a dedicated Parts Manager who strives to return a satisfactory profit on dealer capital invested in parts inventory. The ideal candidate will accomplish objectives through proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising.

Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.

Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all parts department staff.

Maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, and customer base.

Establish pricing parameters in each customer category that generate sufficient gross profit to produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty.

Ensure that parts inventory turns a specified number of times per year.

Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence.

Establish inventory management practices that focus on proper stocking levels, special order parts, and return policies.

Analyze sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals.

Work with the service manager and body shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed.

Attend managers meetings.

Hold weekly department meetings.

Direct shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing.

Direct outside parts and counter sales efforts.

Handle customer complaints immediately and maintain customer relationships.

Assist in the collection of past-due accounts.

Maintain professional appearance.

Other duties as assigned.

Two to four years of related experience and/or training.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Office.
