Title: Junior Accountant
Reports to: Controller
Location: San Leandro, CA (On-Site initially; Hybrid after 6 months of continued employment)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly Position
Hourly Rate: $21 - $29 (Range)
Job Overview:
We are looking for a Junior Accountant that will focus on AR, AP, state and federal compliance, and daily accounting tasks. During the course of your work you should look for efficiencies and be proactive with improvements to the process. Communication with your manager and the team is very important. Responsibility and the accuracy of your work along with timely completion of tasks is a high priority. You’ll be working with several other accounting staff and under the management of our Financial Controller whose own objective is to make sure the team operates with high efficiency, accuracy, and completeness so timely high-level strategic decisions can be made.Your success in this role relies heavily on your thoroughness and attention to detail. The successful candidate must be able to adapt to one-off tasks and requests that may come up with special project work.The benefit to our close-knit team is that you will be exposed to full cycle accounting, which will give you the opportunity to learn and advance your knowledge depth.

Company credit card program payment processing, statement reconciliation, and reporting

Assistance with cost reporting and inventory reconciliation

Assistance with sales reporting

Assistance with COGS

Compliance

State level compliance regarding new product registration, shipment reporting, and license renewal

Assistance with Federal level compliance reporting regarding shipment reporting

Physical and digital document filing

Daily journal entries related to restaurant/retail activity
Requirements:
- AA degree in related field coursework with minimum of 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience

Proficiency with MS Office, advance Microsoft Experience desired; some Google Workspace experience a plus

Excellent organizational skills; high level of attention to detail, well-developed problem solving and analytical skills.

Have the ability to prioritize and handle tasks with flexibility to adapt and adjust on an adhoc basis

Capacity to work under time constraints and deadlines and aptitude to learn new tasks and procedures

Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in related field coursework; Certificated in Accounting or closely related field

Experience with Sage Peachtree accounting software

PAY TRANSPARENCY:
21st Amendment Brewery expected starting hourly range for the position as of the time of this posting is $21-$29/hour. The actual compensation selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) experience, education, specialty and training.
