Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Vice President of Sales to lead our sales team in driving profitable revenue growth by developing and implementing effective sales strategies. The role involves leadership of a team of regional managers with responsibility for inside and outside sales, customer service, and branch operations across 38 locations. The position is critical in executing organizational strategies related to new market penetration and geographic expansion, as well as aligning sales strategies with other organizational efforts. The ideal candidate is able to genuinely connect, build trust, and collaborate with peers, employees, customers, and suppliers at every level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of long-term strategic sales plans that align with overall business objectives.
- Lead a team of regional sales managers.
- Achieve annual sales and gross profit goals.
- Identify and assess new business opportunities and market trends to stay ahead of the competition.
- Manage the sales budget, including forecasting revenue and expenses.
- Ensure the sales team operates within the allocated budget while maximizing ROI.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key supplier partners.
- Act as a primary point of contact for major clients and handle high-level negotiations
- Set performance metrics and KPIs for the sales team.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports to the executive team.
- Use data and analytics to drive decision-making and improve sales strategies.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with sales operations.
- Promote a culture of adaptability within the sales team.
- Implement best practices and leverage new technologies to improve sales efficiency and effectiveness.
- Attract, hire, and retain top sales talent.
- Develop succession planning strategies for key sales roles.
- Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, supply chain, product support, and finance, to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving business goals.
- Participate in executive leadership meetings and contribute to overall company strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
- Enhance the company's reputation and brand presence in the market.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, preferably as a Vice President of Sales or similar position.
- Demonstrated success in driving profitable revenue growth and implementing effective sales strategies.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, customer service, and branch operations.
- Experience with acquisitions and integrating new business units.
- Familiarity with the strategic value of technology and eCommerce in sales.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent collaboration and compromise skills, with the ability to work effectively with other members of the executive team.
