This team member will advise, coordinate and sell customer equipment repair and preventative maintenance services, while building long-term relationships with the customer base. They must have strong communication skills and be able to set realistic and attainable expectations for successful communication and professional interactions with clients. This individual will perform functions to support the work order process, including but not limited to, ensuring that all charges related to work orders are posted properly and closed on a timely basis.
The ideal candidate is a focused and driven self-starter who can effectively prioritize tasks and navigate multiple demands in a dynamic workshop setting.
Specific Duties Include:
- Interact daily with service customers both in-person and on the phone. Determining the customers’ needs
- Determine the priority level of service needed for both inhouse and road service.
- Work with Service Manager to determine the assignment of work to the technicians
- Accurately provide customers estimates in a timely manner and secure a written approval in person,email or text. Use Flat rate schedule where applicable.
- Maintain the Work Order throughout the life cycle from start to finish and keep the customer informed during all stages of service.
- Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner with all supporting documentation and details on the work order.
- Process all completed customer pay work orders.
- Maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold within the dealership’s area of responsibility.
- Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and practices while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
- Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of Norfolk Power Equipment Inc.
- Participate in all team driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts.
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Job Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
- Reasonable computer skills (knowledge of G-Suite, VitalEdge or other dealer software preferred)
Experience in repair, troubleshooting, or parts lookup in the following industries preferable:
- Agricultural equipment
- Motor vehicle industry
- Outdoor power sports equipment
- Small engines and accessories
- Construction Equipment
- General understanding of mechanical/technical terms preferred
- Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
