Overview: Mechanical Engineer (MEP) Designer using Revit and AutoCAD in the design of MEP systems for commercial building projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer while working remotely.

Job Description: An individual with 0 to 4 years of experience and a degree in a relevant engineering discipline . Tasked with the designing the following systems under the supervision of a PE:
- HVAC
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Energy optimization
Required tasks:
- The design of MEP building systems using Revit and AutoCAD
- Preparation of schedules, construction documents, and complete plan sets,
- Performing load calculations
- Code verification and compliance research
- Sizing and selecting of equipment as well as laying out and sizing of piping and ductwork
- Helping to train individuals in the engineering department with less experience
- Visiting project sites for surveys, punch lists and more
- Client meetings and communications
- Required trainings for professional growth
Project types:
- Commercial: including Office spaces, Restaurants, Retail, Hospitality, Educational, Ecclesiastical, and more
- Manufacturing
- Multi-family and large scale residential
The above tasks will be preformed largely from a home office as this position is remote to provide a better work-life balance for the select individual. In office meetings with clients, in office trainings, and project site visits will be necessary occasionally. Remote Work Description: As this position is fully remote the selected individual will be expected to perform the duties of designing and drafting using Revit and AutoCAD from a home office located within a maximum of 1.5Hr drive from Athens, Ga. Daily scheduled meetings will be held remotely via platforms such as “Microsoft Teams” where plans will be discussed, screen sharing and on camera video calls (with no altered backgrounds) will be expected both with the team and with clients. An individual will be available via email, text, phone call or “Teams” during working hours of 8am to 6pm. Our office will serve, as it does for all our employees, as a “check in, check out” hub as well as a space for trainings, collaborative teamwork, and client meetings.

Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field required
- 0-4 years of experience
- AutoCAD proficient
- Revit experience is a plus
- EIT is a plus
- Remote work experience is a plus
- Driver’s license required
- US work authorization required
- Example files demonstrating expertise in the field is a plus.
