Position Overview:
Reporting to the VP of Corporate Business Development, the Associate - Corporate Business Development has an instrumental role in enabling company growth. The Analyst will focus on assisting senior team members with originating and leading proprietary, value-oriented transactions from end to end. Specific responsibilities include performing complex financial analysis and valuations, conducting market research, assisting with due diligence, writing investment committee memorandum and presenting investment recommendations.
Position Responsibilities & Essential functions

Support a comprehensive process to identify and evaluate potential opportunities, including rigorous pipeline generation and screening process that will surface quality acquisition and partnering opportunities

Executes due diligence tasks in evaluating new and existing investment opportunities

Performs extensive independent work in the development of financial models

Assists with the preparation of presentations, memos, and other analyses to support new and existing investments

Participates in the ongoing management and monitoring of both the financial and operational aspects of portfolio investments, including assisting management teams with various corporate development initiatives
Qualifications & Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field with 2-4 years of relevant work experience, preferably in an investment banking, private equity or corporate development group

Possesses financial acumen, including an understanding of basic accounting concepts (IFRS & GAAP), capital structures, debt securities, partnership and waterfall structures

Superior analytics and problem-solving skills, including facility with advanced financial analysis, modeling, and business valuation

Able to articulate investment thesis and respond to questions about the business and why it is a potential investment

Demonstrates fundamental research skills and ability to produce “client ready” investment materials

Curious and creative thinker able to develop and nurture new ideas while being pragmatic and mindful of real-world operations

Adaptive and able to operate in dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environments

Motivated, and self-guided with superior planning and project management skills

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written), and able to interact across all levels of the organization

Must be able to travel at times

Salary: $100K - $125K + Bonus
