Job Title: Bookkeeper/Office Coordinator – Magic Mountain Ski Area
Summary: The Bookkeeper/Office Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day financial and office management of Magic Mountain. Mid-November to Mid-April, the position is full-time (including Thursdays through Mondays during ski season), and off-season is part-time, 2-3 days/week, depending on scheduled events and activities. This position reports directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities Include:
- All accounting functions (accounts payable, accounts receivable), including weekly input of all sales and expenses into QuickBooks to produce timely and accurate financial data and P&Ls.
- Cash and credit management including logging of daily cash and credit card receipts from all point-of-sale stations, oversight of cash register banks, bank deposits. Monthly reconciliation of bank statements.
- Monthly reporting and filing of State Meals & Rooms Tax, Sales & Use Tax, and other required periodic reporting.
- Bi-weekly payroll including collection and input of timecards, creation of paychecks/direct deposits and garnishment checks.
- Manage company 401K plans and employee health plans.
- Assist department managers with purchasing and oversee spending. Communicate and troubleshoot with vendors as needed. Order general office supplies and equipment as needed.
- Provide financial reports to senior management as requested. Work with company president as requested on special projects/assignments. Help develop and manage company and departmental budgets.
- Manage the office communications system including answering machines, company email, internet and cable.
- Administer rental agreements between Magic Mountain and employees who reside in the Bunkhouse.
- Manage seasonal locker rentals and waitlist.
- Assist customers calling in with questions.
Qualifications:
- Strong accounting experience required, Associate degree (BA or BS preferred)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows 365
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, IT experience desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Experience in the ski industry preferred.
- Some experience with Human Resources a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Salary range based on experience: $25-35/hour, depending on experience.
