Eagle Health Analytics is looking for an innovative subject matter expert, who is credentialed as an Oncology Data Specialist (Certified Tumor Registrar) for at least 15 years, to guide the development of technical solutions for the CDC National Program of Cancer Registries. As a subject matter expert, your duties will include evaluating organizational needs and recommending suitable technical solutions. You may also be required to oversee the development, testing, and implementation of software solutions. To ensure success, the applicant should possess an exceptional track record in evaluating organizational needs and pioneering the development of technical solutions.
Key Experience and Skills:
- Knowledgeable of key aspects on population-based cancer surveillance at the state and national level, including case finding, abstraction, coding, data consolidation, editing, quality control, cancer registry software, and national standards
- Knowledge of clinical and pathologic cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Adept in identifying and documenting cancer staging systems.
- Perform software analysis, interface design, testing, and evaluation including performing application reviews and providing specifications to application developers.
- Developing and analyzing conversion specifications for national cancer registry standards and data, including but not limited to classification systems, staging, biomarkers, and treatment. Coordinate conversion specifications with other organizations.
- Cancer registry data and operations lead subject matter expert for compliance with national standards and software development projects. Contribute towards decision- making regarding implementation and enforcement of national cancer reporting standards.
- Coordinate annual upgrades, including summarizing business requirements to meet advancements in national standards, coordinate application enhancements with the lead architect.
- Coordination of activities for national data submissions.
- Assist in selecting appropriate edits for edit sets to meet standard setter requirements for central registries.
- Providing leadership of multiple inter-agency teams and national professional associations, developing standards and best practices for cancer registries to ensure timely and efficient management of resources and project activities.
- Design and development of methods and protocols for collecting high-quality, consistent population-based cancer data for epidemiological analysis.
- Provide guidance and participate in projects and activities to support The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR).
Minimum Requirements:
- One cancer registry expert working as a senior Subject Matter Expert credentialed as an Oncology Data Specialist (Certified Tumor Registrar) for at least 15 years
Required Experience:
Preferred Education, Certifications, and Soft Skills/Experience:
- Working knowledge of the CDC National Program of Cancer Registries
- Strong team oral and written collaboration, skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, business analysts, other developers, engineers, as well as other professional and scientific personnel
- Experienced in customer service
- Ability to work well under pressure
Physical Requirements:
- Indoors in a normal office environment and/or partial to full work from home. May require extensive periods of sitting or standing. Frequent computer uses at workstation for several hours at a time. Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
