Off Shift Production Lead
Location: 288 Area -77045
Pay: $60K to $70K
Hour: 2 PM to 10:30 PM
Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and contributing to the production of varying forging shapes, at different stages in the production process, while making decisions and improvements on the applicable processes and practices utilized in the manufacturing of the product. Under general supervision, the Production Supervisor maintains responsibility for the safety, productivity, quality and performance of the plant personnel.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or GED
· 5-10 years related work experience
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Previous experience in a supervisory role
· Responsibility for team/s of 20+ operators preferred
· Proven track record of improving operations in a fast-paced environment
· Working knowledge of forging operations, CNC machines, Heat Treating, and Bandsaws preferred.
· If driving is required in order to complete the essential functions of this position, a valid driver’s license is required.
Skills and Abilities
· Safety – knowledge of industrial safety and ability to recognize hazards and apply safety procedures common to material handling and operating equipment, such as hazmat, MSDS, personal protective equipment, machine tool safety; Work to meet and exceed OSHA requirements for safe work practices
· English language – ability to read, understand, speak, write, and interpret common manufacturing/shop documents; Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Teamwork – ability to work effectively with coworkers, supervisors, managers, and others.
· Ability to multi-task and manage multiple and/or changing priorities.
· Understanding of forge fundamentals and processes.
· Math – knowledge and ability to apply arithmetic skills, such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, and fractions for the purpose of operating forging machines and workpiece inspection.
· Mechanical – familiarity with machines used to forge and press metal.
· Ability to learn and use precision measuring instruments.
· Ability to read and understand instructions/work orders
· Attention to detail.
· Judgment and decision-making to prevent errors, scrap parts, safety hazards, or other poor results pertaining to job duties.
· Problem solving skills to identify problems, inform others, and provide information to assist with solving the problem.
· Ability to work overtime as required.
· Ability to work shifts as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

· Daily decision-making responsibility for operations, inclusive of scheduling, Discipline, Promotions, Engagement and Issue Resolution
· Work with Human Resources to address any HR-related concerns, issues or tasks involving team members
· Communicate issues with safety, operational, technical and quality management in a timely manner.
· Observe all safety, health and environmental procedures.
· Ensure identification of material is maintained throughout the operational processes.
· Receives instructions and necessary information from Management and computer systems. Receives and works from work orders, sketches, schedules, charts, blueprints and verbal instructions.
· Directs and assists crews in operations to drive WIP through the plant.
· Directs crew in an effort to minimize delays
· Mentor and assist with training of team members on compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and operating procedures and the importance of customer focus.
· Share knowledge in operations, performance expectations and job duties to help others improve in their understanding, work performance, and satisfaction.
· Measure and inspect parts using various inspection tools (Calipers, Gauges, Micrometers, etc.) to ensure conformance to product specifications.
· Performs all other duties as required.
