Intake Coordinator
Previously Meredith White Speech Pathology, Propel has been serving the Brookhaven/Decatur community since 2010. We are a therapist owned clinic dedicated to providing evidenced-based and personalized/family-centered speech-language therapy to children. We consider behaviors as children trying to communicate. Our job is to propel those voices to be heard. We specalize in pediatric therapy treating articulation disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, orofacialmyology disorders, pediatric feeding disorders, language disorders, and fluency disorders. We also provide some adult services such as orofacial myofunctional therapy and fluency therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival
- Collect and verify patient information, including medical history and insurance details
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
- Coordinate referrals and obtain necessary authorizations
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed
Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology
- Experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role
- Knowledge of office procedures and equipment
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
