As a Category Advisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our MRO product data is up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with industry standards, with a specific focus on key categories including but not limited to safety, tools, electrical, and material handling. Your primary responsibility will be to cross-reference and review MRO products while bringing your specialized knowledge to enhance our offerings. Day to day activities will include:

Cross-reference and review products in assigned categories to maintain the highest level of quality in our operations.

Identify and document key attributes of products based on US standards and common applications of the respective items.

Lead decision-making efforts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for product optimization and standardization initiatives.

Regularly review and update product information within your specialized categories.

Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain the latest product data, with a focus on US-based companies.

Identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in product information and take corrective actions.

Implement quality control measures specific to your specialized categories to guarantee the reliability of product data.

Perform data audits within your categories to identify and rectify errors or inaccuracies.

Assist in the development of data quality improvement processes.

Maintain detailed records of product cross-referencing activities within your categories.

Support the efforts to develop Subject Matter Expert training for other team members in the organization that highlight product knowledge and key category attributes.

Generate reports on data accuracy and completeness for management and communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
The Person
We are seeking an individual with a strong analytic mindset, capable of grasping the overall goal while processing very detailed data. The ideal candidate is bright, driven, and curious with a demonstrable background working with data to create insights and solve problems. Strong organizational skills, excellent presentation skills and a focus on customer service are a must. You are a team player in all respects of opportunity. Must be results-oriented while paying close attention to detail.

Minimum of 5 years of experience working with or reviewing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations.

Working knowledge of MRO products (General Industrial Supplies, Safety Equipment/PPE, Power Transmission, Bearings, Fasteners, Tools, Material Handling Equipment), including a general understanding of product applications and specifications.

Proficiency in data analysis and cross-referencing tools and software within your specialized categories.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

A strong commitment to learning and self-improvement, with the ability to independently research and adapt to new MRO categories.

Proven ability to stay up to date on evolving trends and best practices in the US MRO industry.

Must have good people and customer skills and the demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Sourcing/ Project Management/Supply Chain/Data Analytics experience is a plus.
