This position contributes to the achievement of Company and Plant objectives by overseeing the procurement of maintenance supplies, tools, and parts through a requisition and purchase order system for the facility. In connection with the maintenance responsibilities, this position maintains inventory of parts, tools, and supplies by establishing and monitoring min/max levels. This position is responsible for the same functions for office and production supplies, as well as ensuring the office is equipped to run smoothly to support the facility.
Principal Duties
1. Monitors and processes commodity purchase requisitions.
2. Researches vendors and obtains multiple quotes for best pricing on needed supplies and spare maintenance parts.
3. Negotiates contracts with vendors and serves as point of contact for vendor information.
4. Creates purchase orders in SAP, receives deliveries physically and in SAP, and distributes and stores supplies, parts, tools, etc.
5. Maintains adequate physical parts inventory for office supplies, maintenance spare parts, and production supplies.
6. Enters PM information into E-Maintenance and administers PM schedule.
7. Manages janitorial account and supplies.
8. Ensures invoices are paid by Accounts Payable.
Requirements:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Must be proficient in use of computers, Microsoft Office, and procurement methods using ERP systems (BPCS/SAP).
2. Should have some technical knowledge and familiarity with ordering industrial components such as pneumatic valves, motors, gear reducers, etc.
3. Must have good organizational and communication skills.
4. Must have a background in purchasing.
5. Industrial maintenance repair knowledge is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.
2. Must also be able to work in an office environment.
3. Must be able to use standard office equipment such as a computer, calculator, copier/printer, and telephone.
4. Must be able to withstand both hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions.
