We are looking for an experienced insurance professional to join our team as an Underwriting Assistant in the excess and surplus lines insurance industry. You will work alongside our underwriters to assist in the day-to-day processing of our multi-line products.

Your duties will include:
- Answering phones, directing phone calls, and taking payments
- New submission clearance
- Claim Reporting and follow-ups
- Ordering and handling loss run requests
- Renewal file preparation
- Ordering inspections and handling follow-ups
- Processing Binders, ID Cards, Invoicing, State and Federal Transportation Filings
- Issuing new and renewal policies
- Issuing endorsements and driver changes
- Issuing Direct Notice of Cancellations and Non-Renewals
- Various duties to support the Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants
- Handling an assortment of administrative duties
Skills and Qualifications for this job:
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Proactive communication skills are imperative
- Excellent verbal and writing skills
- Proficient computer and internet skills – MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to quickly learn new programs and applications
- Ability to listen well and understand what is being communicated
- Previous experience in the E&S insurance industry preferred
- Previous accounting experience is a plus
- Self-motivated with a sense of urgency
- The ability for independent problem-solving and initiative
- Demonstrate good judgment and patience
- Must be able to be at a computer for long periods at a time.
