Bilingual Experienced Certified Medical Assistant Leader for Triage Department needed of a Well-Established Pediatric Practice
Position Overview:
Well established Pediatric Practice in Hackensack is seeking for a fast learner, compassionate, oriented to detail and committed certified medical assistant leader with a minimum of 2years of experience.
Skills/Qualifications: Candidate must have great clinical skills, proficient in EMR, Office Practicum A MUST, documentation and computer skills, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, bilingual (English/Spanish), friendly, attention to detail, must be self-motivated, organized, proactive, fast learner, committed, and have the ability to multi-task, experience with vaccines (VFC & Private), time management, and confidentiality, willing to work one Saturday a month
Skills/Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant with at least 2 years of experience
- Excellent clinical skills
- Proficient in EMR, with Office Practicum experience preferred

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):
- Supervise all vaccines and medical supplies inventory: Reconcile NJIIS (VFC & private vaccine inventory with OP and physically as well)
- Report and return all expired and wasted vaccines
- Comply with continuing education required by NJIIS, OP, etc. on a yearly basis
- Oversee providers' schedules in OP
- Ensure that all statistical data in the patient chart is entered correctly into the EMR (Office Practicum) by the staff
- Assist the Manager with record-keeping and staff training (new hires) on the EMR and overall office procedures
- Supervise and monitor onsite triage department procedures (vaccine entry, test performance, specimen collection, medical supplies, scanning) to ensure timely completion
- Supervise and monitor patient waiting times in the office
- Assist the manager in preparing staff meetings related to triage, bringing operational topics and suggestions to management's attention prior to meetings
- Help maintain proper personnel conduct and confidentiality of medical records
- Monitor the neatness and cleanliness of triage and exam rooms and communicate with the staff when organization is needed
- Contact specific companies (Office Practicum, Global Protech, etc.) when there are anomalies or difficulties with OP, medical devices, computers, and scanners. Keep management informed and maintain a record of all malfunctions for future reference
Requirements:
- Experience with EMR (Office Practicum)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel)
- Ability to interpret and supervise business policies of the practice
- Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to communicate it simply to staff, physicians, and the general public
- Experience with the Pediatric Vaccines Schedule in OP and the ability to identify root causes of vaccine discrepancies
- Knowledge of the State Vaccine Website (NJIIS)
- Ability to maneuver medical equipment (hearing test machines, vital machines, otoscope)
- Great bedside manners
