Billing Collections Clerk - Outpatient Biller

What the position looks like:
The position will encompass overall responsibility for strategically managing all aspects of billing, collecting, and follow-up on all accounts to obtain reimbursement on all therapy charges from patient treatment(s).
This will include but not be limited to assisting patients by gathering and verifying patient demographics, financial data, and insurance coverage; managing and ensuring insurance authorization and verifications are correctly acquired; editing and correcting insurances, checking the CPT and ICD- 10 codes, verifying visit type, verify that correct modifier is listed and follow up; utilizing payer websites and the lockbox as necessary to obtain EOB’s and 835’s for posting; working insurance correspondence and forward to claims resolution as necessary; and reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
What you will need:
- Required: 3 – 5 years specific outpatient therapy billing experience in Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy
- Competency in all aspects of billing and reasonable computer literacy is required
- Clear understanding of claims submissions, EOBs, CPT and ICD codes
- Ability to review claims as well as understand denials
- Knowledge of Medicare, Commercial and Private insurance
- Proficient in organization and time management
