Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The KBI is accepting applications to fill a Senior Administrative Specialist Position.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Capture data from Kansas Disposition Reports manually and electronically received by identifying the proper existing record and using the standardized coding structure to update each record with the proper indicator of the disposition.
- Interpret submitted information properly and use code conversion when necessary. Locate and modify non-formatted data into accepted code structure. Extract data and form reasonable conclusions about which state statute or municipal code to use when information provided is unclear, incomplete, or totally missing.
- The submitted documents can be complex and require a well-developed skill for analytical thought to arrive at an accurate conclusion.
- Research, interpret, and apply rules for unclear data in order to arrive at a proper conclusion.
- Submit entries to the NICS Indices for convictions that meet the prohibition criteria.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years clerical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Criminal History laws and regulations or clerical experience in law enforcement environment preferred
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements
- As a condition of employment, you will be subject to a pre-employment process to include a polygraph examination, fingerprint based records check, and comprehensive background investigation, including reference check of past and present employers. The pre-employment process will be waived for current KBI personnel who have previously completed the screening requirements
