As a Member Documentation Specialist at Leon Health, Inc., you will play a crucial role in managing and reviewing legal representative documents for our health plan members. Your responsibilities will include verifying the extent of powers granted in legal documents, attaching these documents to member accounts, creating, and maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with our medical center for the transfer and processing of these documents. Your role is vital in ensuring that our health plan operations comply with legal standards and provide seamless service to our members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and verify legal representative documents, such as powers of attorney, to determine the extent of powers granted.
- Accurately attach legal documents to member accounts in the health plan's database.
- Create and maintain detailed records of legal documentation and associated member accounts.
- Coordinate with our medical center to send and receive copies of legal documents.
- Ensure that all legal documentation processes comply with healthcare laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external parties to facilitate smooth document processing.
- Provide support and guidance to members and their representatives regarding the documentation process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Legal Studies, or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare administration, legal document handling, or a related field.
- Familiarity with healthcare laws and regulations, particularly those relating to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
