Position Profile:
The Orthodontic Technician will play a key role in the fabrication and customization of orthodontic appliances, contributing to the delivery of high-quality dental prosthetics. As an Orthodontic Technician in our dental laboratory, you will collaborate with dental professionals to produce accurate and precisely fitted orthodontic devices. Your attention to detail and technical expertise will ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
Job Duties and Accountabilities:
Orthodontic Technician:
- Collaborate effectively with team members and possess the ability to work independently.

Fabricate Orthodontic appliances such as; Hawley retainers, space maintainers, arch expanders, and various other types according to company standards.

Ability to work with various materials such as: stones, plasters, acrylics, and metals.

You will perform assembly tasks such as; trim, wire bend, solder, weld, polish and/or form oral devises.

Thoroughly examine Doctor prescriptions to ensure all instructions are followed properly and efficiently.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Adhere to a strict production schedule by demonstrating time-management, organization, prioritization skills, and being adaptive and flexible in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Orthodontic Technician or similar role.

Proficiency in working with a variety of dental materials, including ceramics, metals, and composites.

Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology.

Strong attention to detail and precision in all work.

Ability to interpret dental prescriptions and work independently.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and infection control.

Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology is a plus.

Relevant certification or degree in dental technology is preferred.
Experience/Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Required to engage with vendors, visitors, colleagues, and the public in a professional and courteous manner.

Must have a keen eye for precision.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Stand or sit for long periods of time.

Ability to safely operate gas powered heating equipment (Bunsen burner) and high-speed rotary tools (bench lathe, hand grinder).

Repetitive motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, or fingers.

Acute visual abilities: Fine visual acuity with the ability to inspect closely or to assemble small parts; color vision; or depth perception and/or field of vision.
