Nike Volleyball Camp Director Position
YOU MUST HAVE VOLLEYBALL DIRECTING OR HIGH SCHOOL HEAD COACHING EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE.
This Nike Volleyball Camp Director will lead and guide the provided coaching staff as the "Head Coach". We are seeking a passionate and energetic Volleyball Director with previous experience to join our team.
The Volleyball Camp Director is responsible for the overall management, supervision, and execution of all camp activities. This includes overseeing staff, implementing and monitoring curriculum, ensuring smooth daily operations, and maintaining a safe, engaging, and educational environment for all campers. The director will work closely with coaching staff, administrative personnel, and parents to ensure the camp's success and uphold its reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Executing the provided daily curriculum and making adjustments where needed to meet the skill level of the campers for the specific camper.
- Demonstrate all drills and gameplay using campers and staff to ensure high engagement and understanding.
- Effectively communicating to campers what is needed from them while showing the demonstration of the upcoming drill/ gameplay
- Evaluate campers and provide corrections, constructive feedback, and guidance to players of all skill levels to allow peak performance.
- Provide live-time feedback and mentorship to the on-site coaching staff to ensure they are providing a positive and beneficial camper experience.
- Knowing when and how an energy boost can be implemented to keep the energy of the staff and campers high at all times.
- Collaborate with other teams to create continued organization and flow with the camp.
- Serve as a point of contact for parents/guardians to provide updates and address issues or concerns.
- Monitor and modify the curriculum as needed with proper communication and confirmation to the executive team based on camper/staff feedback and progress.
- Oversee the daily operations of the camp, ensuring a smooth flow of activities.
- Ensure all equipment and facilities are maintained and set up properly for activities.
- Lead and supervise all camp staff, including coaches, trainers, and administrative personnel.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to staff members.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all campers.
- Ensure all camp activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of camper attendance, medical information, and incident reports.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by campers or parents promptly and effectively.
- Monitor camper progress and provide feedback to help them improve their skills.
- Motivate campers and coaches to work hard, learn new skills, & reach their potential.
- Workable communication with all correspondence with the on-site Director of Operations, Executive Directors, and other administrative staff.
- Enforce camp rules and regulations when needed.
- Overseeing and maintaining a safe environment for campers.
- Creating a fun, enjoyable, workable camper and staff experience!
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a sports camp or similar environment.
- Extensive knowledge of volleyball techniques, rules, and training methods.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and inspire a diverse team of staff members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

- Camper Hours: Mon-Thurs 9:00am-4:pm; Fri 9:00am-12:00am
- Director Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:45am-5pm; Fri 7:45am-12:30pm
- Lunch: LUNCH 12:00pm-1:00pm daily

- Pay: $1000-$1250/wk
- Experience: MUST HAVE HIGH COACHING EXPERIENCE. For this position, we have hired college coaches and high-level veteran High School Coaches. This position is not based on age nor will any candidate be discriminated against for their biological age. This position is based on experience and ability to successfully execute the role.
- Attire: A Nike T-shirt and a pair of Nike shorts will be provided for all staff each week of camp. All staff will be required to wear Nike shirts, shorts & shoes for the full duration of the camp week. (This is a Nike camp, not a Lululemon, Adidas, or Underarmour camp)
- Location: This post is listed for New York, NY, but is a national-level position. The opportunity to work in locations available throughout the country will be presented if available. There is also the ability to create a camp more local to you if there isn’t one already available.
- Accommodations: Any Director who agrees to a camp that is not local will have their travel and accommodations booked and paid for. If Directors are within driving distance and a flight isn’t necessary gas to the out-of-town camp location and back home will be paid for.
- Curriculum: We offer a variety of camp types to our campers. With any camp type that you Direct, we will provide a curriculum and a video library that has demonstrations to go along with each drill/ expectation of the curriculum to ensure maximized understanding
- Staff:
- Coaches will be hired at a 1:12 coach-to-camper ratio
- An on-site Director of Operations will be on-site at each camp to take the load of the off-court responsibilities that come up.
- Executive Directors are available via phone call and the occasional drop-in to assist with anything that comes up and any assistance that is needed, including all virtual parent interactions.
- We will hire and onboard all staff for each camp. If you have someone you would like to work the camp with you that is available for you, though we do not pay for the travel and accommodations at the coaches' level
We are also looking for staff at the coaching level if you are not accepted to this position you will still be considered for our coaching position if that’s of interest, to you.
