MANAGER - ICE SKATING VENUE MANAGER (various locations TBD throughout the country)

Magic Ice USA is looking for energetic general managers and bench managers to supervise all day-to-day operational aspects of a Seasonal Ice Skating Venue, Ice Slide Venue and /or Ice Amusements (at various locations throughout the country). This is an awesome opportunity for the qualified management candidate who wants to work in a fun and challenging atmosphere. Most of our ice skating rinks, ice slides and ice amusement venues will operate from Mid- October through February (approximately 10 -20 weeks on average; different venues will vary).

These management positions will be responsible for, but not limited to, the efficient and safe operation of the venue and hands-on management of ice quality (resurfacing), concessions, hiring/training/scheduling and management of all employees, maintaining outstanding cleanliness of the facility and equipment in addition to generating revenue through ice rentals, public skating, sponsorships and general cash management.
The general manager's duties will include the responsibility of processing public skating and/or ice amusement income and other charged events along with providing superior customer service to the public.
The general manager must implement risk minimization through safety policies, following employee manuals/guidelines and meeting all local, state and federal safety codes.
The general manager will also assist in first class public relations and providing outstanding customer service while implementing all of the ice rinks objectives, such as ensuring compliance of company policies & procedures and developing a first-class recreational venue for our clients.
The successful management candidate will have prior experience in ice rink management and/or ice maintenance, recreational, amusement and/or sports management, and/or at least three years of progressive special event management/supervisory experience (any prior ice experience or credentials as a CIT or within ISI, STAR, ORFA, NARCE and/or Zamboni driving is helpful and a plus. In addition, demonstrating prior knowledge of managing high volume crowds or with large public gatherings while exceeding customer service expectations is a plus).
Project management and/or management working in an arena or recreational venue/environment, or its equivalent in large crowd management or managing venues with large public events will also be considered. This is a hands-on position where the general manager must be able to think on their feet and develop solutions quickly when necessary.
Managers will be self-starters with ability to analyze situations and develop solutions to problems with minimal supervision.
Managers must have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
Managers must have the ability to effectively lead their subordinates while working with their peers, employees of all levels and the general public.
Management candidates will have a Bachelor's or Associates degree (having related professional experience and credentials within the ice skating industry would be very helpful).
All management candidates must exhibit strong leadership skills, have excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to having excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
All management candidates must have a valid driver's license, a basic knowledge of personal computers and be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening.
All candidates must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Our Ice Skating Venues, Ice Slide Venues & Ice Amusements are located at various locations throughout the United States. Transportation, training & boarding will be provided to the venue site for all qualified candidates. This is a FULL-TIME, SEASONAL position and the salary is $3,500 per pay period ($7,000 per month), plus a food allowance and is based on the candidates experience and credentials.
