Overview: As the Repair Quality Control Inspector, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all vehicles produced meet the established quality standards and specifications. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the reputation of the company by ensuring that every vehicle leaving the production line meets safety, performance, and aesthetic criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect Vehicles: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles near completion to identify defects, non-conformities, or deviations from quality standards.
- Quality Assurance: Implement & maintain quality assurance processes to ensure quality compliance fit & finish standards. This includes verifying parts, components, and systems against the repair documentation.
- Documentation: Maintain and produce records of inspections, place in customer car for customer reassurance of quality.
- Testing and Analysis: Perform functional tests and evaluations to validate the performance and reliability of repair, such as light and signal operation.
- Problem Resolution: Work collaboratively with Technicians, Paint refinish technicians, and production staff, to identify and address quality issues, and aid in effective corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Provide feedback on quality control processes and suggest improvements.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations throughout the final repair process.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive systems and components.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to identify even minor defects or deviations from quality standards
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate quality issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective solutions.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced collision repair environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in automotive quality control or a similar role within the collision repair is highly desirable.
