Job Description Participates in the acquisition, design, teaching, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and improvement of medical equipment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Assists in the supervision of shop operations under the direction of the Clinical Engineering Supervisor. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, meets regulatory requirements, and maintains accurate records across the system. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Experience
10 years of experience in biomedical or electrical instrumentation and test equipment

Education
Associate's degree in Biomedical Technology or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Detailed knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment, including Joint Commission, National Fire Protection Association, and Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation
Proficient in various PC hardware/software applications and equipment database programs
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Must be detail oriented and have excellent follow through skills
Job Responsibilities
Assists in overseeing the medical equipment management program to be in compliance with all regulatory requirements including Joint Commission, National Fire Protection Association, and Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation.
Provides advanced technical support to maximize equipment uptime, accuracy, performance, and efficiency.
Coordinates outside services, including service contracts, vendor, and ISO servicing.
Tracks, schedules, and completes preventive maintenance checks by due dates.
Assists in implementing department goals/objectives and ensures follow through for self and department.
Establishes and maintains lines of communication with hospital staff and physicians to ensure optimal customer service.
Provides advanced support and training to Clinical Engineering personnel.
