Michigan Millers is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst IV to join our team!
The individual in this role will have the opportunity to lead Quality Assurance members on our Data Team on the testing and quality of our backend data, ETL and data warehouse projects. They will have to opportunity to guide team members through best practices and processes on project test designs, planning, and estimations of high-impact software application modifications, as well as identify tests for automations to improve business and software practices and processes.
What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?

Collaborates with the product team to test and deploy application modifications of mixed impact and risk based on collaboratively defined requirements.

Participates in work refinement and estimation processes with the product team.

Prepares and executes testing on all new and modified code per team, product, and organization standards.

Works with product and change control teams to ensure quality deliverables that provide customer value.

Creates and maintains documentation that the product team or company has defined as important (e.g., support processes, team processes, system documentation, and decisions and discussions).

Ensures timely delivery of projects and tasks while communicating delays and roadblocks with the team and leadership, as needed.

Flexes to non-core responsibilities as needed to ensure timely work delivery to the customer (e.g., analysis, testing, deployment, and meeting facilitation).

Collaborates with the product team to design, develop, test, and deploy application modifications of higher impact and risk on collaboratively defined requirements.

Reviews test creations, planning, and execution results in all stages of application testing.

Provides coaching, mentorship, and general automation guidance for DevOps software testing lifecycle events while guiding activities to ensure goals are met through teamwork deliverables.

Collaborates in the strategy and implementation of quality assurance methodologies, standards, and practices.

Performs test reviews per team, product, and organization standards and influences best practices for test reviews.

Identifies opportunities for process improvement and collaborates with team and team leadership to influence process improvement at the product team and enterprise level.

Provides improvements to defect-prone areas in product and platform architecture based on metrics in the areas of root cause, scope, risks, and organizational impact of a problem.

Facilitates the test defect resolution process (e.g., meetings and metrics) and designs testing metrics, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.

Leads in troubleshooting, resolution, and communication of urgent production issues within product team.

Collaboratively guides automation of processes and tasks at product team level and finds opportunities for automation beyond the product team level.

Mentors and shares knowledge with others to help them improve on all of the above.

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?

Hands on experience in ETL/ELT, database and datawarhouse testing.

Solid experience with SSIS, SSRS and familiarity with BI reporting tools.

Demonstrated proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and developing stored procedures.
-
Experience using Python for automated tests.

Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion.

Strong attention to detail and quality.

Basic understanding of test metrics and the tools to measure them.

Ability to provide metrics for test execution.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to present information to product team.

Advanced knowledge and use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages.

Strong aptitude in required computer languages and code versioning software.

Ability to read and understand coding languages with minimal support.

Ability to write and teach others how to write automated tests.

Broad exposure to and knowledge of multiple tools and frameworks.

Relevant education and / or training (e.g., bachelor's degree, associate degree, bootcamp certificate); experience in lieu of education is acceptable.

Previous property-and-casualty insurance industry experience or education.
Compensation Overview:
The targeted hiring range for this role is $85,243 - $104,186, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and/or may be considered for other positions.
