The LDM Group, LLC, an Management Consulting firm headquartered in the Washington DC Metropolitan area is hiring Nutrition Technologists (SME) to develop high-quality nutrition education, training services, and other technical assistance resources, to meet the needs of the diverse Child Nutrition audience in support of a federally funded program which support State agencies and other external organizations in the provision of nutrition education, training and technical assistance for Federal Child Nutrition Program operators, school nutrition staff, and other stakeholders. The Nutrition SME will be facilitating the planning, progression, and completion of nutrition-related projects for Child Nutrition Program operators and stakeholders, including training curricula, technical assistance materials, nutrition education resources, resource promotion, professional meeting planning, and online learning and technical assistance tools.
Position: W2 FTE with competitive benefits (Monday through Friday) Virtual work schedule 8am-4:30pm eastern standard time (subject to change to meet project deadlines).
REQUIREMENTS OF QUALIFICATIONS:
· US Citizenship and Background Security Check required.
· Bachelor’s degree or graduate/higher level degree in the fields of_ dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, public health, health education,_ or a related field required. Registered Dietitian certification is strongly preferred. Completed a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) (formerly ADA) for dietitians or nutritionists. The educational program must have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
· Minimum of 3-6 years of experience implementing or working with the Federal Child Nutrition Programs, including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SPB), NSLP Afterschool Snack Service, Child, and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and/or Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) at the national, state, or local level.
· Must be fluent in both English and Spanish and have demonstrated experience developing nutrition-related publications for Spanish-speaking audiences residing within the United States.
· Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and Excel).
· Demonstrated proficiency with nutrition communications, to include writing for audiences with varying literacy skills, and understanding of 508 compliances.
· Demonstrated proficiency utilizing collaboration and project management software (such as Microsoft Teams collaboration tool).
· Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of attention to detail, organization skills, and customer service (i.e., working with internal and external stakeholders to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve issues).
· Strong proficiency related to oral communication and interpersonal skills (i.e., expressing information to individuals or groups effectively, assessing target audience communication needs, applying strong listening skills).
· Experience in developing content for social media platforms and electronic newsletters.
· Experience in coordinating webinars and managing webinar platforms.
Job Duties Involve, but not limited to:
Review and update existing nutrition education and technical assistance resources and materials to ensure content aligns with updated CNP policy and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
Review NEPB nutrition education and technical assistance materials to determine if revisions are necessary to align material content with updated CNP policy and guidance. Work with leadership to update resources accordingly appropriate for the intended audience and accurately align with Federal regulations and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
Note: The Dietary Guidelines for Americans is the cornerstone of Federal nutrition policy and education activities. Since 1980, the Dietary Guidelines has been jointly updated and issued every five years by the US Departments of Agriculture (USDA) and Health and Human Services (HHS). The Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025 is the current guidance.
Develop, publish, and promote new nutrition education and technical assistance resources and materials:
Support NETTA’s projects to provide nutrition education and technical assistance to CNP operators, children, and their caregivers, based upon government regulations and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, in the areas of nutrition education and food service management systems for CNPs.
Work with the COR and the NEPB branch team to research and develop content for new nutrition education and technical assistance resources and materials. Resource content must be appropriate for the intended audience and accurately align with Federal regulations and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Once content is approved and cleared through the FNS publications clearance process, the Contractor will then work to design, finalize, and release new nutrition education and/or technical assistance resources and materials. Provide a comms plan detailing activities and timelines for announcing and promoting the new nutrition education/ technical assistance resource.

Respond to customer service inquiries received through the Team Nutrition Mailbox.
Support Team Nutrition Mailbox Coordinator to provide standard operating procedures for responding to customer service inquiries received through the Team Nutrition Mailbox.
1. Check the Team Nutrition Mailbox daily and triage email in accordance with standard operating procedures.
2. Draft responses for received inquiries and contact the Team Nutrition Mailbox Coordinator to review draft responses, as needed, for final approval prior to sending.
3. Record all emails received in an Excel spreadsheet along with the response time, a brief description, and an order number, as appropriate.
Create, edit, and/or finalize content and materials for electronic communications, presentations, and social media.
Using plain language principles, the Contractor shall develop content for electronic newsletters, promotions, and announcements for delivery via GovDelivery, PartnerWeb, social media, and/or other electronic communication platforms.
Administer and Support NEPB Webinars. Provide technical support services for NEPB webinars via WebEx, Zoom, MS Teams, or other webinar hosting platform of all webinar preparation meetings. Draft promotional announcements, assist with drafting presentation slides, host the Webinar via WebEx, Zoom, MS Teams, or other webinar hosting platform, review the webinar recording and finalize webinar recording transcript, fill out continuing professional education request (as applicable), and send out certificates of completion to the attendees.
· create a webinar event using WebEx, Zoom, MS Teams, or other webinar hosting platform.
· creation and finalization of registration forms and promotional announcements (to be distributed via PartnerWeb, Social Media, and GovDelivery), PowerPoint presentations, memorandums, and other resources related to the webinar (e.g., certificate of completion).
· schedule at least one dry run with the webinar presenters or related staff, the dry run will include testing of hosting duties (muting all participants, recording the webinar, responding to participant questions, and providing technical assistance to participants to connect to the webinar).
· webinar platform 30 minutes prior to the event start time ensure all participants are muted and begin recording the webinar. Import the webinar recording and all webinar statistics reports (registration report and attendee detail report). Send out certificates of completion to attendees and keep record of the certificates sent. Review webinar recording and mark necessary edits for transcription service. Finalize the webinar recording transcript. Revise the drafts responding to substantive comments along with a table that includes a summary and explanation of changes made.
Develop online and printed nutrition resources written in Spanish
Support NETTA’s projects to provide nutrition education and technical assistance to Spanish-speaking CNP operators, children, and their caregivers. Review Spanish translations from English to ensure the nutrition message and grammar are correct, translations are consistent with Team Nutrition’s Spanish-English Glossary, materials are culturally appropriate for Hispanic audiences, and materials are written in a manner appropriate for lower literacy audiences. Additionally, the Contractor shall:
· Translate recipes from English to Spanish and review designed recipes for accuracy
· Respond to customer service requests (in English or Spanish) received through the Team Nutrition Mailbox and phone number within two days of receipt.
· Update Team Nutrition’s Spanish-English glossary to reflect translation decisions made by NETTA
· Prepare and deliver nutrition-related webinars in Spanish.
· Update and provide translations for Team Nutrition web pages that are written in Spanish or include information about Spanish language materials.
· Develop Spanish-language social media postings and e-newsletters
· Administer webinars in Spanish (create registrations, upload slides, provide technical assistance, verify, and maintain records of attendance, correspond with webinar attendees regarding participation certificates) using various webinar platforms.
